With the unmistakable ‘Paps’ on the horizon, our journey of discovery has taken us from Scalasaig to the remote Isle of Jura and the first in our Single Cask Distillery Series. This single American Oak ex-Bourbon Barrel number 2505 was
filled in 1992 and laid to rest for 29 long years awaiting our call.
The Jura Distillery was built in the early 1960s although there has been a long history of distilling on this sparsely populated island. Perhaps surprisingly, its style is typically not peated, even though the island is covered in the stuff. The spirit does, however, have a good rigid structure due to a shorter-than-most period of fermentation and takes long, patient maturation very well indeed.
Bottled at 48.1% strength, this single barrel #2505 is non-chill filtered and 100% natural in colour. Only 202 bottles available
